Castle Frenzy Review
December 7th, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »Castle Frenzy by Gameloft is a tower defense game where you try to keep goblins and other fantasy creatures outside your door step.
The game got really interesting and fun controls. To kill the monters you will have to stop them manually by picking them up and throw them away, smash them into the ground or a lot of other ways, but it is all done with your fingers.
You got a few upgrades you can do, like buying a stronger gate, spells or a couple of monsters.
While the graphics are really nice and some of the best I have seen to the iPhone, the gameplay is sadly only fun for a few minutes. » Read more: Castle Frenzy Review
PS3 Media Server
December 5th, 2009 by Claes No comments »
PS3 Media Server for Windows/Linux and OSX by Shagrath is a computer program that allow you to share pictures, music and movies with your Playstation 3 over your local network.
I have been using this for a while now, about a year and this is one of the best media servers out there for the PS3. Before this I had to use my public sharing folder to let my PS3 gain access to my files since I didn’t find any good one, but when I found this it all changed.
The program has loads of options so I won’t go through them all but you can setup your media server to share any folder/folders you like on your computer. There are a few bugs like sometimes you can’t fast forward and sometimes very rarely though it don’t find a specific file. I had to move the file to a different folder to be able to play it.
But this program is so much more then just a way to share your files, it plays almost anything you throw at it. The biggest problem I had with my PS3 was that it didn’t play most files, actually it didn’t play many formats at all, but with this your booked up for anything. It even run ISO files.
If you got subtitles, put them in the same directory and name them the same as the video file and the server will run them as you play the file. If there is embeded subtitles in the file you can choose to play them via the transcode option. » Read more: PS3 Media Server
Cool iPhone Case Marware’s Game Grip
December 3rd, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »
I stumbled upon this cool accessory to the iPod and iPhone called Game Grip by Marware.
This case is unique since it focuses on enhancing the gameplay experience instead of just protection.
The Game Grip have gotten good reviews and should be interesting for people playing a lot on their device.
In many games I find it hard to hold my iPhone and at the same time push the game controls on the screen, this might be a good solution to that.
I do not own this so I can not review it but here are the features:
* Unique cord management system provides the ultimate versatility
* Can be used with headphones/ear buds
* Can be charged while playing
* Silicone sleeves can be used as stand alone protection when not gaming
* Provides convenient, radically comfortable access to full face of touch or iPhone
* Enjoy hours of extreme game play » Read more: Cool iPhone Case Marware’s Game Grip
vWallpaper Review
December 1st, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »During the last two days I have been testing out vWallpaper.
vWallpaper by Skrew is a cool homebrew app for the iPod and iPhone which allow you to set a .mp4 or .mov video as background.(This app also support video ringtones but I am limiting my post to wallpapers.)
I am using a 3GS 3.1.2 and it works without any greater problems. The videos play smooth and unless it’s a large file there is no springboard lag. While on larger files it can lag a bit while switching pages.
I test ran a 13MB large video wallpaper without going into sleep mode for 3 hours and there where no loss in performance. The video still ran smoothly.
Where this program really shines is with small videos that end where they start, resulting in a endless video. Or you could compose a bunch of wallpapers to get a neat slide show and or mix in a bit of video. I really would like a animated dock.
How to install vWallpaper.
• Open Cydia or Rock and install SkrewCommon.
• Install vWallpaper, also in Cydia/Rock.
vWallpaper need SkrewCommon to work so it is important that you install it. » Read more: vWallpaper Review
How To Restore Your iPhone
November 29th, 2009 by Claes No comments »If you mess up your iPhone so much that restoring is your only option. Here is how you do it.
First don’t worry iTunes can restore almost anything, mine didn’t even boot up in restore mode last time I had to.
What you need
• Firmware on file, unless you want the newest version. Available downloads at Modmyi.com.
• USB cable
• iTunes
1. Connect the iPhone to your computer via the USB cable.
2. If iTunes detects it make it sync to backup contents just in case.
(Assuming a worst case scenario, if your iPhone boot up skip to step 5.)
3. Hold down the sleep and home button until your iPhone powers off and back on. Let go of the sleep button but keep holding down the home button. » Read more: How To Restore Your iPhone
Quick Review iFile
November 27th, 2009 by Claes No comments »Today I am doing a quick review of iFile.
It’s been out for a long time and most people already know what it is but if you want to know more or can not decide if to buy this app or not then read on.
If you are looking for a easy way to manage your files iFile by Carsten Heinelt is the program for you. It does the jobb and it does it good!
While iFile can Run, Delete, Move, Search and Copy files it can also
• Create and Rename files and folders. • View file info.
• Unzip rar and zip files. Once browsing a zip or rar file you will be able to choose which file or files to extract.
• Manage your Safari bookmarks.
• Open Video files and other media.
• Install Deb files
One great feature is the built in web server which will enable you to download and upload files to and from your iPhone easily via any web browser. It does though require Wifi. » Read more: Quick Review iFile
Thanks For The Great Time MiniNova
November 26th, 2009 by Claes No comments »It’s a sad day today as MiniNova is forced to restrict torrents to content distribution only by Dutch law.
The word torrent is known to most as piracy, and a lot of people don’t even know what it really is. Torrents are a way of sharing and recieving files via the Internet, be it legal or illegal content. While you download you also share your downloaded files to others.
This was my main source for fan subbed anime. There really isn’t any good way to watch the Japanese tv shows unless you download them.
And this just breaks my heart.
Thank you MiniNova for the time it lasted, it was the best. » Read more: Thanks For The Great Time MiniNova
iHome Keyboard, Nice Going
November 25th, 2009 by Claes No comments »
iHome keyboard or iConnect Media Keyboard which is it’s full name looks promesing at first sight.
The dock it self is hidden under a flat cover which you can slide away when you need to use it.
The keyboard dock does everything that the normal USB cable does so this doesn’t really add anything that you don’t really got.
What is good with it however is the elemination of the annoying USB cable and the far reduced chans of accidentally pushing your iPhone over the desk edge.
The keyboard has illuminated touch sensitive media buttons that is used to control your playlists etc. » Read more: iHome Keyboard, Nice Going
Blog Update: Captcha and Contact Page
November 24th, 2009 by Claes No comments »Finally those deceptive bots should be rendered useless on my blog.
Since this is my first blog I totally fell for those nice comments, they sure got me!
But I did think they where pretty suspect. The most obvious ones was the “random letters and numbers” URL + “more random letters and numbers”.
The posts didn’t really sound like they was for this site, but I answeard them just in case someone really did write the comment.
The end came to it though when I had my second “Hi can I have a small pic from your site? URL”
Even though most of the bots where nice they should now be kept out thanks to Captcha. I have both SI Captcha and Really simple captcha installed. I have tested them and can recommend both(plugins for Wordpress). » Read more: Blog Update: Captcha and Contact Page
3G Unrestrictor + Skype = True
November 24th, 2009 by Claes No comments »
There are a lot of homebrew apps out today and most of them beats anything that could ever come out of the AppStore.
One app that really comes in handy is 3G Unrestrictor by Kim Streich.
What the app does is allowing you to lure apps such as Skype and YouTube that they are on a wifi connection while in fact it is on the 3G.
So what’s so good about it? Skype for example! Does your friends or family have skype? Then this tool will allow you to call free from anywhere.
You could also trick AppStore to be able to download files larger then 10mb. » Read more: 3G Unrestrictor + Skype = True

Space Ace Still Owns
November 23rd, 2009 by Claes No comments »In the 1980s the original arcade Dragons Lair was released and it was amazing. Tightly after came Don Bluths next animated master piece Space Ace and it exceded all expectations.
Back in 1980s there was no games that used real animations and the top game played was Space Invaders, that was until Don Bluth landed. And released these two classics that is still living on today.
While today if you see this game you will probably not think of it as a big deal but if you where around at the release this would have been the most awesome game ever. People where acctually saving up money so they could go and play it.
In 2009 the iPhone remake was released by Digital Liesure and this was one of the games that made me want an iPhone.
Space Ace plays out as a animated movie where you got to rely on your fast reflexes to beat the game.
There are pages of stuff I could write about this game, but I won’t. If you want to know more about the games history, google it. » Read more: Space Ace Still Owns
Light Up That Shower
November 21st, 2009 by Claes No comments »Now this is something I want!
Led shower handle that varies colors from green to red depending on water temperature.
There are a lot of different led shower handles out there today and they are really popular. The one I am writing about is available at www.coolstuff.se/Led_Duschhandtag in Sweden. I couldn’t find the manufacturer.
There are also a wide variety of items that you can attach to your current shower handle.
Though that seems a bit riskfull, since the handle I got looks nothing like any other I have seen and I doubt that there are anything that can be attached to it. So I am looking for the whole thing and this one looks good. » Read more: Light Up That Shower
Tips: Watch Naruto On iPhone
November 20th, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »It’s been a while since my last post so here comes a little tip.
It works with any iPhone movies of course but this tip focuses on Naruto.

Lately I have been away from home a lot, out of reach from my computer. And guess what I can’t do when not at my computer? Yes that’s right… Watch Naruto.
The series have had it’s up and downs but they are back on track and I now feel that I got to know what happens in the next episode. And when the next episode is released and I’m not home it sucks.
Today was one of those days, double episode release and only my iPhone. crap! Was what I thought. I tried iMobilecinema it didn’t help, I tried downloading avi files but vlc4iphone didn’t play them.
It all lead me to this really simple procedure. It need a couple of bucks spent but both are worth it. Both are available in Cydia / Rock. » Read more: Tips: Watch Naruto On iPhone
Homebrew Flash Player for iPhone
November 15th, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »(Updated 20091127)
iMobileCinema brings flash to jailbroken iPhones.
This is a bit of old news, but currently the only way to get a bit of flash support in your phone is to break your warrantry laws.
Being relatively new in the iPhone community I was shocked that this device that I payed 1100$ for was not able to play flash. When all other similar phones runs it just fine.
I have since my last display of anger about this issue read up a bit about why there is no support for flash.
Turns out Apple was not happy about the performance from Flash Player Mobile, currently it seems to run fine on all other mobile phones except for the iPhone. Because there is no Flash Player on it! » Read more: Homebrew Flash Player for iPhone
Firewall IP Does the Jobb
November 13th, 2009 by Claes No comments »Firewall IP currently available through Cydia and Rock does what it is supposed too.
Currently you get a few options once a program tries to connect to the Internet.
Deny once, allow once, always allow and always deny. You can also add and manage specific program settings.
If you use IntelliScreen you will have to add it manually in firewall settings, otherwise it won’t work.
Even though there isn’t much use of a firewall right now this is a good solution to upcoming worm problems and other threats. It also helps keeping data taxes under control if you have a expensive service provider. » Read more: Firewall IP Does the Jobb
Ikee Worm Messes With Your Brain
November 10th, 2009 by Claes No comments »The first as*** are starting to show up in our so far friendly and harmless iPhone community.
The newest is the Rick Roll worm Ikee by Ashley Towns.
Ashley claims that he made the worm to enlighten people about the risks of jailbreaking your iPhone.
Though that is a blatant lie in my opinion because of two obvious reasons.
1. Ashley released the source codes for four different versions of Ikee, now why would he do that unless he wanted other people people to learn how to do it and possibly evolve worms and viruses for the iPhone.
2. Have you ever seen the Rickroll video? If not, consider yourself lucky. The rest of us have been tricked into seeing it by links leading to this horrible crap. Even though this is just a picture, it’s the ultimate psychological torture worm. And couldn’t be any worse. » Read more: Ikee Worm Messes With Your Brain
Be a Portable Speaker

The shirt has a thin removable plastic speaker attached to the center of the shirt by cardboard. The shirt is powered by four AAA batteries and is controlled by a wired remote.
By default it has ten soundtracks and ten special effects, but you can add your own mp3 files via a SD card. » Read more: Be a Portable Speaker
How To Change iPhone Password via SSH
November 6th, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »(Updated 2009-11-11)
I said I would write a guide to how too change your root and mobile passwords.
Warning: Before changing your password make sure that it is one that you can never forget. If you forget it your only option will be to restore.
I take no responsibility for what you do with your iPhone.
If you are going to use SSH on your iPhone it’s best to change your password to something the rest of the world don’t know.
To use SSH between your computer and your iPhone you need a few things.
•Open SSH downloaded from Cydia or Rock.
•A PC client like WinSCP with PuTTY
•A wireless network to connect your computer and iPhone. » Read more: How To Change iPhone Password via SSH
George Hotz Does It Again With Blacksn0w
November 6th, 2009 by Claes 1 comment »George Hotz has done it again and released a new version of Blackra1n and this time it includes Blacksn0w.
If you don’t know, Blacksn0w unlocks your iPhone so that it can be used with any sim card. You are no longer restricted to only use ex. Telia.
Blacksn0w is bundled with Blackra1n, just tap install on Blacksn0w while jailbreaking your iPhone. Blacksn0w is also available in Cydia.
I recommend reading up a bit on www.blackra1n.com before installing. » Read more: George Hotz Does It Again With Blacksn0w
Tips: Lockscreen + IntelliScreen
November 6th, 2009 by Claes 2 comments »How to make your lockscreen look like this.
This is what you need:
•Intelliscreen(bought in Cydia/Rock)
•Winterboard(free in Cydia/Rock)
•Best Clear Lock Screen(its a theme from Cydia/Rock by Luke Salter)
•Open SSH(from Cydia/Rock) and a client like WinSCP for your computer.
Warning I strongly recommend that you either turn off Open SSH in SBSettings when not using it or change the password into something else so that unwanted people can not gain access to your iPhone. I will write a guide to how to do that later.
So now it should be really simple creating your own theme but non of the tries I have done so far have worked, so I modded a already finnished theme.
I wanted a completely clear lockscreen except for the slide button. But my problem was that the text in IntelliScreen was hard to read. I also wanted the ability to change background images but preserving the transparent look. » Read more: Tips: Lockscreen + IntelliScreen
No More Boring LockSreen With IntelliScreen
November 5th, 2009 by Claes No comments »One of the really hot apps right now is IntelliScreen from Intelliborn, and it is for a reason.
What IntelliScreen does is to transform your lock screen to a fully customizable interface for mail, sms, rss, sports and weather. Intelliborn have done a good jobb of putting it all together and there are loads of options for customizing it.
The interface is very well thought through and you can see there is effort put into it which is not very common for homebrew apps but is expected from a pay for app. This looks just like something you would find in Appstore.
This is not risk free though, I recommend backing up your iPhone in both iTunes and Rock before installing.
The first time I installed this program it worked fine, I then unistalled it since it’s a trial but decided to install it again to do buy it. And what happend was that my iPhone refused to boot up and everytime it did I had an error that I spent hours trying to solve, in the end though I just restored it. » Read more: No More Boring LockSreen With IntelliScreen
Apple why? WHY!!! No FLASH!
November 4th, 2009 by Claes No comments »Flash for iPhone now rests in Apples hands. Just wish they could get both their thumbs out of their behind allready and do something about it. Instead of making falls promeses.
Adobe have a program ready that allows the iPhone and iPod to view flash, I am not fully aware of the situation but I can’t see Apples problem.
